10. Oxygen Bar

This joint is the world’s highest distillery, the effects of which you will notice after downing your first flight! Created and owned by a bearded flannel-wearing local, you know this is the stuff of hipster gold, especially because the water is sourced from old gold-mining riverbeds. Tours and complimentary tastings available every half hour, with VIP tours after hours at this Top 10 Breckenridge saloon! Open daily 11 AM - 6 PM.
8. Motherloaded
At this Top 10 Breckenridge tavern, the food is so good you may give your mama some serious side-eye - where were your cheese curds, mac and cheese egg rolls, Spam fries, chicken n waffle, and salmon fish and chips growing up?! MOM WHERE’S THE MEATLOAF!? (fear not, there’s a steak loaf). Anyway, house made infusions, mason jar cocktails, and local beers on tap just add to that “from scratch” feel. Daily happy hour 3-6 PM, Trivia Tuesdays, Open Mic Mondays, and Fri-Sat live music! Open daily 11:30 AM - 2 AM.

Hammerschlagan, lederhosen, Oompah, schadenfreude? Okay maybe not that last one, but this is the perfect opportunity to celebrate that German heritage you’re lucky enough to have or wish you had. Occurring annually in September (not… October…), this raucous Top 10 Breckenridge event is timed accordingly with the stunning changing of the aspens, which you may or may not be too drunk to notice. With German food, games, beer, and even a 5K, the Rockie’s largest Oktoberfest is sure to please. Prost!
6. Downstairs at Eric’s
29 TVs, 25 arcade games, 80 beers, this Top 10 Breckenridge bar is a Chuckie Cheese for adults (Top 10 tip: do not go to Chuckie Cheese as an adult). Delicious pizza and bar food accompany a variety of sport programming, PLUS you can just creep on patrons via the bar cam! Wait times are long during peak season, so arrive early and be patient! No reservations. Open daily 11 AM - 12 AM.
5. Rita’s
After cavorting in the snow all day you’re likely ready to trade up for some salt and sand! This local favorite basement bar boasts daily specials, house-made salsas, and 19 hand-pressed margaritas that will satisfy your cravings post ski, run, hike, or whatever other kind of pregaming you’re into. Happy Hour is 5-6 PM, 10 PM - close, and all night on Mondays! Open Mon-Fri & Sun 5 PM - 12 AM, Sat 11:30 AM - 12 AM.
4. Après Handcrafted Libations
With 30 rotating craft taps, 40+ rotating craft bottles and cans, and local liquor, spirits, and wine, this family-owned Top 10 Breckenridge brewery embraces everything about the locally sourced craft mom-and-pop movement (not yet spotted: organic vegan flannel glasses). Trust the cocktail creativity and the ensuing urge to destroy your pals in Jenga. Open Mon-Sat 2 PM - 12 AM & Sun 10 AM - 12 AM.
3. Broken Compass
Coconut porter, chili pepper pale, ginger pale ale, and chili lime ale are just some of the local favorites elevating this mountain town brewery to new heights. Board games, darts, and even pinball make you wonder if you’ve died and gone to your childhood heaven at this Top Ten Breckenridge brewhouse. Plus, friendly Fidos allowed! Open daily 11 AM - 11 PM. 2. Napper Tandy’s
This Top Ten Breckenridge bar offers Beer Pong Thursdays with $3 pitchers and $2 wing baskets, so really there isn’t anything else to say. Well… except… a couple things… that Ladies drink free Fridays 9-11 PM, happy hour is a gloriously lengthy 4-7 PM, there is live music on Saturdays, and good ol’ greasy bar food with a dash of Irish offerings. Hope them ski legs are ready for some jig-dancing! Open Sun-Wed 3 PM - 12 AM, Thu-Sat 3 PM - 2 AM.
1. Ullr Fest
Occurring every January, Top 10 Breckenridge event celebrates the “patron saint of skiers,” who obviously adorned a ridiculously amazing Viking outfit because he is Thor’s stepchild, so why not. Festivities include a frying pan toss (again, why not), group ski racing, bonfire, Fat Bike eliminator, and ShotSki. Top 10 Tip: it’s pronounced eww-ler, and don’t forget the Viking helmet we all know is in your closet.
